today was not actually all that interesting until about 10 pm. basically, i woke up at 10 when joelle called me to tell me something, then went back to sleep until about 2. woke up, did not all that much besides study, and that was it. at 10, norm finished his (one and only) exam and he, john, and i went for pho. this was, of course, after much pleading to be *allowed* out because i have an exam....in FIVE days! LoL, anyway, we had a fun time at pho as always, then went to john's house for ice cream...and gg. i mean, umm...unreal tournament. fed a wad of meat to the pirhanas, but they didn't seem too interested in it. drove norm home and realized that the stars were gorgeous, so we spent prolly another hour trying to find some place in the city with NO lights. it's harder than you think! we were gonna go down walkley (away from giant tiger and chung's house) but the fog was FREAKY! one minute you're driving through it, and the next minute it's all above you. it's clear about 6 feet off the ground, but everything above that is misty! it's like twilight zone or something! john said, "where's kasin when you need her?" cuz that was straight outta luskville!
in any case, after much driving around, we finally just went a bit south of hunt club on this desolate stretch of road with no lights, pulled over and stood outside so we could just look at stars. within 10 minutes, a big city-of-ottawa snow truck went lumbering by...and then backed up about 200m just to ask if we were okay and if the car had broken down. awww...it really is nice that there are still people like that. ...and within 10 min of that, a carload of ppl drove by, pulled a u-ie, and hopped out to ask if we were okay. then the guy told us about some park nearby that we could go to so that ppl wouldn't keep asking us if we were okay! LoL... gotta love ottawa!! for all my brit readers, remember when i always said that if you dropped your wallet, the person behind you would likely chase you down to return it? i'm tellin' ya, canadians are NICE!
anyway, after that, it got cloudy and it was a little embarrassing to be there anymore, so we went home. within 5 minutes of sitting outside my house talking, some crazy kids jumped on and over the car!! i was SO freaked out, i nearly had a heart attack! they didn't even notice us IN the car, cuz they jumped all over this car across the street, too! delinquints! i was so scared and my heart was racing so fast after that that we had to go for a drive (again) just to calm me down! we went to check out stars again (nowhere near hunt club!) and at least the sky cleared up a bit so we could even spot the big dipper!
so yeah, my day didn't pick up until about 10 pm, but it certainly made up for it in excitement and odd occurances!! ;)
