yesterday i went to church and did some interviews for my discourse analysis project that's supposedly due today (but i think enough ppl badgered him to give us an extension so now it's due wednesday, yay!). ate lunch with chung, jeff, steph, and a whole buncha other ppl. i saved chung's life - twice!! altho maybe you could count it as only once because i in turn tried to kill him once so that jeff could share in saving chung's life. oh no! i just broke the 6th commandment!
anyway, after that, i went to billing's to say hi to john, and to buy knitting needles and yarn. in case anyone was wondering why i singled out denise, it's because she and john pretty much have the same jacket! anyway, zeller's didn't look like it had anything special yarn-wise, so i ended up getting this yarn that's kinda bluish and kinda off-whitish. i think it would match his fleece pretty good, but i dunno about his winter coat...oh well, it's bluish, so i think it would match anything i wear pretty well, heehee! i went to school to meet up with my group partner but pretty much got stood up, so i went back to billings and sat in john's car until he finished work. i got some transcribing done in the meantime, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
went to his house, and sandy showed me how to knit. i took me a lil' bit to get the hang of it, and john thought it looked easy so sandy showed him one stitch and he got it right off the bat!! grrr... oh well, at least he offered to knit me a scarf too!! heehee! so i basically spent the night knitting...so far i'm not too good at it. i've somehow managed to drop some stitches in the middle (which results in some holes...), and add some stitches at the end (so the sides are kinda wonky). at least it means that my scarf is definitely unique and if he ever loses it, he can't go out and find one that "looks the same"... in the evening, john, mayo, and i were sitting on sandy's bed watching elf and knitting. sandy said we looked funny. elf wasn't that good of a movie, dunno why everyone was ranting about it. so after a whole night of knitting, all i have to show for it is a clump of knitting that's about the size of a kleenex box. i guess it's kinda wide, huh? i bought pretty thin needles, so the stitching is really close together - at least it'll be one heck of a warm scarf! maaaaan, shoulda bought fluffy & boogery yarn...
