the most wonderful thing happened to me today! i GOT a copy of psychology lecture 5!! i couldn't believe my great luck!
aside from that, i got my marketing midterm back and i didn't think i got such a great mark. i was hoping for an A (of any sort), but i fell short with a 37/50. however, i got one question right that was marked wrong, so i've got a 76%. then he said that since EVERYone did so badly on it (class average: 64ish), that he would raise everyone's grade by two marks. now, he said two MARKS. out of 50, that means a 4% boost, and that means i got my 80! yay! i was hoping for a little higher, but apparently the highest mark was about an 84, so i guess i wasn't that far behind. : P

one thing i am VERY thankful for (aside from getting a hold of lecture 5), is that i was msn'ing with one of the guys from fellowship. he messaged me first because he didn't know where our psych midterm was. : ) i told him that i'd try to end kcf around 9 so that we can all go home and cram, and he said that was great. i stressed, "cuz you're gonna be there, RIGHT?!?" and he said yeah as if i was silly for having to stress that. to the bus-ticket boys, i am very thankful for your eagerness and commitment to coming to kcf. your consistent attendance, support, and enthusiasm are much appreciated, and it has given me a new perspective about kcf. i really dunno what i'd do without you guys (i'd only have vincent to make fun of, but then i've been doing that for ages!), so....kamsamnida!!

back to watching lecture 5....only 1 1/2 more hours to go...!!

my big rant of the day is that the itv lounge needs to keep more in-house copies of psychology 49.102 on hand. one copy is just not enough for a class of a few hundred. also the take-home tapes are in HUGE demand right now because the midterm is on saturday! it's impossible to get my hands on one!! it's like the tickle-me-elmo, where you could line up all day just to wait for the stupid tape. the consolation is that the rental is still only $2. my theory is that itv's got a pretty darn hot commodity and since it's pretty much a monopoly, they could charge a few more bucks for the tapes! not that i advocate that, of course. i spent a few hours today trying to get a hold of any week 5 or 6 tape, but to no avail. AuGhHhHHHhhhHhHHhH!!!! on the bright side, i managed to watch my religion lecture in the meantime, since i'd already wasted all that time getting to school.
and on a side note, i'd like to thank my favourite meatball for calling me in the middle of watching my religion lecture just to say godnatt. it was ok tho, i got to stand outside the itv lounge and stalk all the tapes that were being put through the drop slot. "excuse me, is that psych??"
and speaking of stalk, don't even GET me on that can of worms......

i think the ONE good thing i have to share about today is that i've found one thing that can calm me down (other than the meatball). i made a copy of the very first cd i've ever burned (so this is the second, which is exactly the same as the first). my foozeball-superior now owns the first cd. but i've found that this cd is actually quite good at melting my daily frustrations. just thinking about all the lyrics makes me lose focus on all my grumpiness. singing along helps too. : ) this cd is becoming therapeutic. maybe i should mass produce it (if only it didn't violate copyright laws...).

i'm pretty much done ranting for the day, except for a shout-out to normie because he's feeling left out of the shout-outs. for all those that don't know, normie is a super-special friend of mine who loves moosehead beer, any kind of pie, pho, almond jello, pocari sweat, and fresh-from-japan pocky. he also likes playing ps jeopardy and pong. norm is one of the very first people i met in high school, and through the years we've had a ton of inside jokes and memories. everything from broken heads and done dogs to word bingo, and norm being a genius (said in chinese accent) who is proud to be a canadian (said in french accent). racing down bronson at 1am, pool at lieutenant's pump during spare, dim sum, conditioned rats & nugget night, and you being there for me at cw's party in OA (you prolly never realized it or you don't remember, but that night will stick out in my mind forever). if i said what i really thought of normie and exactly why i luv him so much, he'd get mad at me for posting it (he'd also vehemently deny it even though we all know it's true - even rob agrees with me). so i'll just leave it at that.
i think today i will write about people. some wonderful wonderful people that have touched my life within the past week or so. in no particular order, or course.

let me tell you about someone special to me who is far, far away. waaay over in the land of meatballs, ikea, mats sundin (down with the leafs) & daniel alfredsson (GO SENS GO!), lives a male version of me. we're about the same height and weight; we share similar backgrounds; we have the same career dreams; we like the same sports; we have the same sleeping patterns; and we both really like talking on the phone. altho i think this person is absolutely nuts for many many reasons (and i tell him that he's crazy every time he calls), he's wonderful to talk to! i suppose we could save money if we each talked to ourselves since we're so similar, but it's still cool to talk to him. meatball, you're sooooooo special to me because you understand me like no one else does. with certain issues, i can rant to everyone else and they don't understand but they listen because i need them to listen and they know that all they can do for me is be an ear. i can rant to you and i'll only have to half-rant because you can finish the rant for me. you have the same rants!! thank you for being such a great friend...jag älskar dig... it was funny when dick asked "how do you two know each other?"...made me think how thankful i was that you and i have become such good friends, so i suppose thanks should be going to....

mr. knackered!! owner of all things that are lush! my number-one stalk target. you still hold the the prestige of being just about the only person who can make me cry (in good ways, of course). you have touched and changed my life in zillions of ways that i cannot even begin to explain, but i suppose most notably the night at the top of the stairs. when you're not busy kicking me out of your country, you are....you! there are no other words to describe it. you are one in 6-billion (or whatever the population is up to), and i am proud, pleased, and thankful to have you in my life...so where's my cd??

shout-outs also to the toronto-baller-geek. i know i already wrote stuff, but the more i think about my weekend in toronto, the more i remember the last night of tc 2001. chatting at megan's over taro (or was it almond?) bubble tea. you and i seemed to be the only ones that didn't go to urbana, so while everyone was singing songs we didn't know, we were chatting about stuff. i remember thinking that you were really interesting to talk to because of what you wanted to do with your life (aside from being an engineering geek). i'm glad that you and i kept in touch over the past year (and talked trash). what really sticks out in my mind is the conversation we had while walking to school. it's really encouraging to me what you want to do with your life, and after saturday night, i can see why. i can totally see your heart and passion for youth work and i think you'd be like one of those youth pastors that could whip all the kids in your fellowship on the ball court. : ) even tho you and i don't get much chance to talk to each other, and we see each other ohhh...once a year?... i'm still really thankful that you've touched my life too....so where's my cd??? (notice any trends here?)

svengo...y'think it was random coincidence that we managed to meet up in TO? just weird about the phone calls... you've had such a presence in my life in the past year and a half. you have a way of making even the most serious of situations funny (especially your reasoning every time i complain about having to lose weight). you've been like a big brother to me, except cooler! thank you for all the life advice and guidance you've given me, especially during all those middle-of-the-night studying sessions at school.

and last but not least, there's this crazy girl that's been msn'ing me just about every day this week. aside from her constant requests that i write about her in my blog, i think she's special too. i would've written about you anyway. : ) she reminds of myself when i was her age!! anyway, she's nuts, crazy, hyped, and enthusiastic! and that's what makes her special...that and she had the guts to stick a q-tip up someone's nose. : )

ok, those are my thoughts and my thanks to all you awesome people in my life. loads of rants today, so it's time to end! til tomorrow!

first i'd like to issue a retraction, my brain wasn't working properly when i said that nate & tank lived in sauga...oops, they live in RH. my bad!
i've got a whole load of things to rant about today, so listen up!
first of all, one thing that really touched me in TO was jason's church. they were all so nice and welcoming, even the pastor who said hello to me in korean (do i look THAT korean, that even chinese ppl think i'm korean?!). i was just wowed at the love in that room, and heck even the girls that didn't know me gave me hugs (but that was partly to spite J). and plus j's family pretty much just invited a stranger over for dinner and to stay for the night! j, your church and your family are just so blessed with oodles of love, and i'm thankful to have been part of it if even for just a few hours. i think i also added to my mandarin vocabulary of *woh da ni de pee goo*... : )
i had an amazing time in TO, and if i didn't have macro today, i would've stayed for 2 more days! i managed to see way more ppl than i thought i would've been able to see! it was just fate that i had breakfast with steve & janey, but it was way cool to see steve again, if only even for an hour. i also managed to see mike, persila, and boblong which was also awesome. i think mike got a nice surprise when he opened the door and found me chillin' on the couch!
that was the best 3-day vacation i've had in ages, and i'm glad i took it! it was successfully jam-packed with some of my favourite people, and i got to do some pretty special things (see raps game and go to family worship).

well, that was the toronto wrap-up. i made it home just in time to settle down into the couch and cheer on the BEST hockey team in the WORLD!! what a way to cap off reading week! as albert says, "was there ever any doubt?" but yeah, of course, all good things come to an end. i went to school today, and when i came home, i found that my mom had messed up my room!! she was poking around and measuring stuff cuz she wanted to buy me a table for my birthday?! i could think of OODLES of things i'd rather have than a table. cash ranks somewhere on the top of the list. anyway, while she was at it, she thought she'd do me a *favour* and rearrange my room!! AARRRGH!! so now a shelf that's jam-packed with textbooks and was waiting to be moved in against the wall (where there is already a bookshelf but i have to wait til my brother clears space in HIS room for it before i can get rid of it) is against some other wall in my room and blocking not only my window, but my mirror AND my dresser!! there was a reason it was in the middle of my room in the FIRST place, cuz it was closer to the wall where it was going to end up...and plus since it's so loaded with books, the more it moves around, the more it'll SCRATCH UP MY HARDWOOD FLOOR!!! AUUUUGH!!! i dunno what her problem is. it ain't like she goes around cleaning up anyone else's room!! grrr...i was so upset i didn't know who to call and complain, so i made a very long-distance call to tiz but he wasn't home. btw, tiz, if you're reading this, i really do think your answering machine sounds cute. i had no idea what it said, but i figure all answering machines are universal and just leave a message after the beep! so yeah, tiz wasn't home for me to complain to, so i called kalun instead. it was cool to talk to adrian over kalun's mobile, and thanks kalun for listening to me rant for a good 10 minutes before i actually said "so how have you been?".... ok, i think i'm now drained of any rants now. over and out.
