wow, i was gonna write something, but after checking the comments from yesterday's post, i forget what i was gonna say. thanks for your prayers, guys. when more details are released in the media or whatnot, i'll prolly talk a bit more about what's wrong, but right now the only thing a lot of people can do is pray. i hope that by the end of this mess, someone will have an amazing testimony to share with a lot of people who don't know God.

yesterday i had lunch with some guys i knew from chinese school, then went shopping with wb and liz. we shopped out rideau, walked thru the art gallery, thru the market, and back to rideau, then walked to my house. my legs were sore. we went to the pump for wing night, and after that, we all went to le skratch for some pool. it was quite the night for some of us, as we found out about the friend in trouble. some of us didn't know him well, so they weren't too affected by the news. i pretty much started praying about it when i got home...

woke up today and did a few things. folded all the kcf brochures for frosh week, and watched some tv shows from the 80's. matlock and hunter...those were some of my favourite shows! went for korean food with wb, liz, arum, vincent, kathryn, and chris....and i was supposed to go have pizza with the usual wing boys after, but i ended up eating too much korean food. :*( so i stayed with them...we went to kathryn & chris' to play games all night. we played cranium, mafia, and then played drinking (water) games. so i've been home for about an hour now....and on average, i've been having to GO every 10 minutes!! i hate water-drinking games.

Dear Lord, my friend is in trouble. I can't imagine what he's feeling right now, but i would think that's he's feeling pretty crummy. I can't physically do anything for him, nor can i say anything to him to make him feel better. I pray that you show him Your love, and show him that he need not feel fear, despair, or distress. I pray that You would comfort him and just give him a great big hug, and that he would know that there are a lot of people praying for him right now.
I pray for us who are on the outside. That we keep calm, think straight, keep out mouths shut, and act positively. That we would sit down, shut up, and pray. That we would put all our fears and worries into Your hands.
I pray especially for me and A, that he and I will be able to keep each other strong as we start the year at school in our circle of friends. That our actions will speak louder than our words. For a long time, I felt I couldn't stand up to them all alone. I thank You for A, that I can now stand with him, and we can make an impact on these guys.
There are so many thoughts and worries swimming through my head that I can't even write of them all, but You know my heart and my thoughts..... God, please take care of my friend.

Amen.

today was a nice contrast to yesterday's super-adventurous chocolate & ice cream-filled day. i woke up, did laundry, and did a whole load of other work. school is starting, and that means that fellowship is starting too. good ol' Korean Christian Fellowship. for those tuning in now, yes, i will be president of KCF at carleton this year. long story. yes, i realize that i am far from korean.
anyway, i sent out emails, i booked a room for KCF this term, i got the KCF brochure, i made a small flyer to pass out during frosh week, made lunch, had a long conversation with uncle (it prolly wasn't actually THAT long, it just seemed kinda long cuz it was all in chinese), ate lunch, discovered a major problem with my school schedule - mainly, that i scheduled a class at the same time as KCF and now i can't get out of it because all the other sections are full. i'm going to have to petition to get let into another class. and i forget what else.
oh yes, i also found out that i'm being *reviewed* by the CCRA (canada customs & revenue agency). my 2001 tax return is being assessed, and now i have to cough up a whole whack of proof of things i *paid* for, like RENT and tuition. i need to have a little chat with the person who filled in my tax return... i'm not pleased about this. i don't even have my receipts from tuition because i gave 'em all to person-who-did-my-taxes (and shall not be named!). rargh! this person is proving to be quite elusive...i already tried to email them earlier this week for some numbers i need off tax returns to apply for my student loan, but they haven't replied yet!! they're not usually this slow! augh!
i did so much work (paperwork and otherwise) that it's boggling my mind. oh, i know what else i did for a few hours.....i talked to someone whose name will not be mentioned more than the words "ice cream"...heehee!
and speaking of which, i found the most entertaining new pastime!! person-whose-name-will-not-be-mentioned-more-than-ice cream recorded himself singing "arms of love" in swedish, which i managed to persuade him to let me download. if i hit the >> button on my player, it plays the song in about double time, and makes him sound like a chipmunk!! it's the most entertaining thing!! i think i could listen to it over and over and still laugh at how fun it sounds!! oh, of course he sings really well (altho he doesn't like to admit it) and it sounds awesome at normal speed, but it still sounds good in double speed...ooh, you can tell how much fun i had with this. don't even get me started on how great it sounds backwards!!
teehee, too much pretzel talk all day. i want pretzels. *chung* said he loved me today. awww.... chung, if you take it back and claim that it was someone else at your computer, i'm gonna cry. you don't want me to CRY, do you?!? no, i don't think you'd want that...
i think i'm hyper. i think it was that bowl of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream i had earlier. johan, wanna recount those words now? : )

wow, quite the adventurous day today!
my first day of vacation was undoubtedly well spent! woke up bright and early and went for breakfast with patty and john at ottawa u. we stopped to pay my tuition, then went to pick up normie at the ra centre. from there, we started driving south. way south. very south. we couldn't decide whether to go to smith's falls or carleton place first, so we flipped a coin and went to carleton place. in hindsight, we probably should've just kept going and gone to smith's falls, but oh well. so when we finally hit the 416, we cut back to the 417 and then took the 7 to carleton place. had big ice cream, altho not much selection because one of their freezers blew up. :*( i had strawberry, norm had pistachio almond, and john had watermelon. john's was cute, it had little chocolate chips in it to look like watermelon seeds! patty abstained because of the nut warning. :*( after eating less than half his ice cream, norm gave up and gave me the rest. then he and patty went back to get some drinks, and norm was then unhappy that his drink was @$$. a not-so-nice word for "bunk." after i finished my (waffle) cone, norm dragged me back in to get a little baggie of cheese chunks. they're like, broken off corners and bits and such. we got an old i think white cheddar cheese which was quite yummy!
so we started driving to smith's falls. we didn't actually know how to get there, but we went back onto the main road, and whaddya know, there was a sign saying "smith's falls" with an arrow pointing left. perfect! nibbled on cheese while driving, and when we finally got there, we went straight to the chocolate factory. mmm...heeeersheeey.... took the little tour and saw lots of big vats full of nuts, sugar, and chocolate. then we went to the important part - the chocolate store. very yummy. poopy had asked me to buy him tons of stuff, so i ended up buying almost $40 worth of chocolate. the boys didn't believe that poopy existed, and thought i bought all that chocolate for myself. bah!
after that, we drove to the a little spot next to the canal or river, whatever it is. we passed by the liquidation store that sonja told me to stop at if i got the chance! there were all these signs in the window, so i didn't even get to see the blue cord skirt that she told me about, but oh well! we sat by the river at this picnic table and just chatted the afternoon away! normie insisted that his feet were flatter than mine, and took off his socks and shoes to prove it. i found that rather amusing. normie has cute feet, teehee!
drove back to ottawa, and i was so tired that i nodded off for a lil' bit. everyone went to their respective homes, and when i got home, i realized that i was left with the now-very-oily baggie of cheese. after sitting in the car all day, it was really greasy (but no worries, when it get cold again, it'll just *evaporate* SAM!). but i must note that it is now mostly solidified again, and the cheese is again firm and yummy! i also made john meet poopy, so that he knows poopy actually exists and that i can justify buying him $30 of candy! also, after talking about rollerblading all afternoon, we had all decided to go later in the evening. so by the time everyone woke up after 7, it was a little late to go blading. teehee, i think we're getting old! a lil' roadtrip out into the outskirts of ottawa and it's enough to tire us all out for the afternoon!
ahh.....and such was our little adventure for ice cream and chocolate. tune in tomorrow for more animated hi-jinx when wen-bey and liz get back to ottawa!

okay, well, something's wrong with my blog. it just cut off the last bit of my post, so here's what it is supposed to say:
in the *fun* news.....i found this bible trivia site. this'll keep me entertained for the next little while.

and upon re-writing that little bit, i just realized that i forgot the " to close the end of the site address. but the thing has gone dodgy (i love that word!) because the EDIT function just takes me to the bible trivia site and it won't bring up the post to let me edit it. it's all been merged into one link. doh. however, if you hover your mouse over the time that i posted, you should see the rest of what i meant to post....and the *time* link will also take you to the bible trivia site too. i guess everything just got mushed into one. : )
quite the weekend. altho it should sound exciting, it wasn't overly. went to parliament hill saturday around 12:30ish for this thing called the cry. parts were good, but i dunno if i wasn't really into it, or what, but i guess i was expecting something more. maybe it was just me.

we went to wasabi in the market, which i've been meaning to try. found out that pam's uncles own it. well, isn't that convenient? it was okaaaay, a lil' on the expensive side (even for japanese food in ottawa!), but hey, we got free stuff. : ) after that, sonja came over and we chilled. we called our mutually favourite person, and then we called tiz. hahahah!!!!! for some reason, both of them seem to think that we're crazy. i have no idea why they think this.

today i went to church, then went out for lunch with some ppl...came home and napped. i woke up, ate a bit, and then mehn "guest" voong called! i chatted with him for a bit, and then sonja called!! yay sonja!! we had the best conversation (actually, they're all good).
son: hey, what're you doing tomorrow?
zet: i'm going to carleton place!
son: oh! i was gonna ask if you wanted to go to smith's falls!
zet: i'm going there too!!
*collective laughter*
turns out son found this lil' store that sells clothes from liquidated stores...so they have weird things, much like value village, but new stuff! and she called because she figured i'm one of only two ppl who would be interested in going to such a crazy store, but steph wong is outta town. but she prolly wouldn't be allowed to go all the way out to smith's falls either, so son called me...since i'm crazy enough to go on such a weird road trip! ......why does everyone seem to think i'm crazy?

i ducked out around 10 because i'd called normie about something and he said he was at the pump with conrad!! i ran out just to see conrad, who just got back from spending a year in china! conrad lost weight..why do all the skinny ppl lose weight and us fat(ter) ppl can't lose weight?! does it really take a year in china to go and lose weight? that's a rhetorical question.

in the *fun* news.....i found this
