Gosh, it seems this thing only gets attention about once a month. There's really not a whole lot to say. Work has been work, and life has been life. It seems mundane sometimes, but at the same time, sometimes everything just zips right by.
This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend, my first official holiday. I'm pretty psyched because I teach twice on Mondays, so I get paid for 2 classes without actually having to teach! Yesss!
I've also been granted funding to go to the annual TESL Ontario conference in Toronto in November. This means that I pay a nominal fee of $50 and I get registration, travel, and hotel. For reference, the registration fee itself is almost $200. And the hotel is the Holiday Inn on King. So I'm saving a bundle! I'm looking forward to the PD hours, which I need to maintain my certification. It's unfortunate that all those demo lessons and stuff in Japan can't count towards certification. :(
And another update. My step-nephew, "So Stupid," remains nameless! Apparently parents have up to 42 days to register a name, and they're stuck between two options. Until then, the poor kid is stuck being called "So Be Be".....or.........just So Stupid. I get the feeling that daddy, "So Stupid Senior," actually finds this amusing. I believe he lived through being called So Stupid as well. I can't wait to actually meet him one day, but I'm sure it won't be for a long while.
