Here I am, sitting around and letting my mind wander when I should be lesson planning. The lesson for tonight is time prepositions (in, on, or at), so go figure I want to be thinking about anything else.
Anyway, for some reason, my brain is going back to Christmas day. We went to my house for dinner, and while John got cornered into fixing the computer for my brother, I ran up to my room and called Adrian to wish him and his family a Merry Christmas. Adrian was actually the one who picked up the phone.
Adrian: hello?
Zet: (in a shy but somewhat excited voice) hi.....
Adrian: (shocked and surprised) HI!!
Zet: Merry Christmas!
And so that is my thought of the day. I recall how exciting it was that even though we haven't spoken in months, with just a simple "hi" he recognized me immediately. It's not just Adrian though, because there have been a few other touching 2-line phone conversations. One of my personal favourites was the last time I called Kalun to say Happy Birthday...
Kalun: hello?
Zet: HI, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Kalun: OH, MY WORD..... (said in Kalun's unique Bristol accent)
.......And then there are people like Phill, who, for about a good 20 minutes of a conversation thought that I was Chelley. My reaction: WHO THE HECK IS Chelley?!?! Grrr.... LoL, Phill learned after that, and he's never mistaken me since. :) Speaking of Phill, he finally blogged again, so he's been re-added to the links on the sidebar.
To all those friends who recognize me in an instant, and to all those that I recognize at the first "hi".... I miss you all and love you to bits!
