An outlet for frustration, bursts of love, and outright crazyness!

this is a quickie bit about apartment-sitting. for those that know jack & vincent, you will know that the brothers have gone back to the motherland for a while. and since i'm their closest trustworthy neighbour, they've asked me to apartment-sit. i did this last year and had no problems. it's easy, drop in, check their mail, make sure everything's fine and dandy. vincent even killed all their plants this year, so there's nothing for me to water! it's a nice place to sit and chill. last week, we cooked dinner and watched tv, just kicked back and enjoyed not having to fight against watching the chinese channel at my house. anyway, if you boys are reading this, my one and only complaint is that your mailbox is BUNK. i can open it fine, but it takes me another 5 min of fighting it to get it to get in and lock it. see the proof?

so, as clement so pointedly noted, here is yet another update on my shenanigans.
the week has been fairly ho-hum, what with me being jobless and all...and feeling fairly unmotivated to do much about it but worry about my finances come tuition time.

sports-wise, we had our first ultimate practice this week, and it was somewhat helter-skelter because it wasn't well organized. for the first half, i learned and practiced a few throws, none of which i am yet very good at. then we learned the *stack* and i got very frustrated because everyone was telling me something different and ppl were telling me i was doing things wrong but in actuality i was running correctly. i was getting so upset at the whole thing that i wanted to lash out and hit someone... we also had our first softball game this week, and it was...well, our team needs practice, let's say that. we lost pretty badly.

the story of the week happened on saturday. john and i went out on a leisurely trip to the dark side to replenish his family's ever-dwindling supply of drinking water. on the way back, his car engine suddenly died - while driving. he managed to start it up again, only to have it die within 20 seconds. i have to say, pulling over with hazards on right at the top of the king edward bridge, not quite in quebec or in ontario, was somewhat of a harrowing experience. luckily, just as we were at the "well, now what?" point, a tow truck pulled up and rescued us from the cars zipping around us.

in other news, most people are back from school. it was nice to see josh, sonja, and carmen again. i will have to cherish the presence of the first two, before they venture off into parts unknown within a few weeks. a bunch of us went for a nice sunday lunch at the bubble tea place, followed by watching the game. when i told john that josh, chung, and i were watching the calgary-san jose game, he was genuinely confused and asked, "huh?? isn't calgary playing detroit?"
