been a typical week. i just wanted to talk about one of my best friends, tommy (aka boogie, as in the link). i could talk for hours about him; from how we met (under not the best circumstances), how we became friends (made the best of not-so-pleasant circumstances), how we stayed friends (many many dollars on long-d bills and many many hours on IM's), how we started fights (sometimes violently), how we resolved our issues (also sometimes violently-j/k), and how we became the best of friends (all of the above). he's one of the biggest and bestest geeks i know, able to give me tech support at any time ("yeah, if it's smoking, that's not a good sign"), and always up for a good laugh or good news. he is also the only person i have ever known to have gotten locked in a library.

he has started a blog. read and enjoy! i highly recommend the "pseudo code" from a few days ago as a guide on who to vote for.

in other news, i got this email earlier today:
Hello Suzette Lee:

the weekend was pretty busy - we went to toronto for the day to drop off victor's car, so in the meantime we managed to shop the chinese malls, have some dimsum, grocery shop (for chinese groceries, of course), buy nicolas some awesome toys for his bday, and then go for korean bbq. that was definitely the highlight of the day because it's so darn cheap! and on top of the all-you-can-eat meat, there's all you can drink for an extra buck. there's the typical pop like coke and 7up and stuff, but they also offer nestea iced tea...and SOY MILK!! now, we realize this is a total loss leader cuz the more soy milk you drink the less meat you eat and they prolly lose less on the milk than the meat, but still! all you can drink soy milk for a buck?! i think the 4 of us put away about 3 pitchers of the milky goodness.

sunday was church and then the beach for nicolas' party. very elaborate party for a 2 year old! the 4 of us were looking forward to having favourite aunties & uncles status after nicolas got our toys, but unfortunately some glory hog (no names, daddy!) took all the credit for our car. well, i'm sure he'll get his in the end, especially since on monday night he wanted to play risk with the 4 of us but big made him go home. you missed out on a great night of risk - very dramatic. we played til about midnight when sandy destroyed victor (after previously decimating john) and it was just me and sandy. i had most of the america's, and she had the rest of the world, so on her next turn she would've cashed in victor's cards and gotten an extra 55 or so armies and attain world domination. but before we got there, sandy called the game at a tie so we could all go home and/or sleep and so ended our night of risk.
