Well, my first week of teaching went over pretty well. I started talking about weather for a few days, and I think it's been going well.
Saturday we went to (surprise!) another wedding. John was a groomsman in this one, and his duties involved tying a cord around the couple to symbolize binding them together. It was a big wedding...well, rather, the wedding party was big. A whoppin' 8 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaids! It was a whole parade of people walking down the aisle! Anyway, that was pretty fun yet busy (as all weddings have been so far). Saturday morning, while we were eating breakfast, I got a call on our cell phone... It was my friend Steve from Toronto. We became really good friends when I was in first year, but he moved back to Toronto after that. We haven't talked much in recent years, but I suppose our friendship made enough of an impression for him to invite me to his wedding... in 3 weeks!! Tack on another wedding to make this year's grand total of 6 weddings (7 if you count the invite we got for another wedding this Saturday but couldn't go because John was a groomsman and we'd already confirmed attendance). So now I'm trying to figure out travel plans for that week to see if I can make it to Toronto. Unfortunately for me, I also realized that that's Thanksgiving weekend and traffic is going to be awful. Not only that, but most people that I know from Ottawa might come home.
Excellent.
