worked. thrillsville. spent most of my lunchhour at the chateau laurier registering attendees to some luncheon thingie. scammed a butternut squash soup, and it was tasty! worked til about 6, then came home and if i remember correctly, tiz called. but i was starting to fall asleep on him, so i let him go and then took a nap. within 20 min, joanna called, so i talked to her for a while. while i was talking to her, normie called, and asked if i wanted to go for pho later! mmm.... i ate dinner, did a few things (aside from cleaning my room like i had planned), then norm came to pick me up and we went to joanna's. normie is quite the silly, complaining all the way to centrepoint..."man, we're almost in perth!...a few more minutes and we'll be at the chocolate factory!!....people LIVE out here?!.......i don't want to sound like a little kid, but are we there yet??" heehee...... we met up with john at pho bo ga, but we also ran into rob, vince, and a friend of theirs. so we all ended up sitting together. those boys left, and among the 4 of us, two had major cravings for tapioca pudding (no names). we spent over half an hour contemplating where to find tapioca pudding at about midnight, and eventually gave up and went to timmy's. normie got tired and went home, so then john and i dropped joanna off and took a look at her car, which she'd accidentally dinged today. it was quite the ding....altho it in itself is a minor looking ding, the bumper as a whole got a good dinging. booey.
so that's that, and i gotta clean my room still.....before bigjon and kasin get here tomorrow! eek! sooooo excited..... the kasmo kountdown is at just a few hours now!! wheee!!

i've discovered that timmy's french vanilla cappucino is like a magic elixir! after downing an extra-large last night before coming home to study, i ended up pretty alert until about 4, when i gave up cramming and went to bed (not that i was all that tired). i woke up at 10ish, and was wide awake, feeling like i had a great night's sleep! wowee, i should drink more coffee before going to bed from now on!!

on my way to school this morning, i remembered what i thought was funny but couldn't remember. it was raining at a fairly good clip yesterday, and it got heavier as the day went on. when john drove me home, we drove by the pretty new apartment building by my house, and he drew my attention to the lawn of the condo's. the sprinklers were on!! we figure they're on a timer system, but all the same, it seemed pretty silly to be drowning the grass and shrubs when they've already been soaked all day! in any case, we found this to be quite amusing, altho when i told vincent today he didn't seem to think it was so funny, so it might be a "you had to be there" kinda funny.

went to japanese class, and the first thing i said to sensei when i walked in was, "sensei, can i present on tuesday instead?! i have a midterm at 2:30!" and she said, "okay!" well, that was easy enough! stayed for about half of japanese class, which was quite the giggle. byron (aka "casper") and i just kept making fun of ppl. we learned how to make suggestions and give advice today, so in one example, sensei said, "ritsuko (our TA) wants to find a job." casper whispered his suggestion of: "go back to japan." sensei asked me what company i think ritsuko should apply to, and i said "ma-ku-do-na-ru-do..." this giving advice stuff is getting to be quite fun, especially when we can make up crazy answers! too bad i had to leave early tho, cuz i had that awful midterm to write!

went and wrote the midterm. it's a toss-up. the stuff i thought would be on it wasn't worth much of the exam, but i'm pretty sure i nailed the section where we had to analyze swahili (which was worth 19/45). after that i chilled around campus and hung out with various people. helped randy with his assignment which was always the pleasure. : P went to kcf, which was always a joy, and then vincent, ellia, and i went for some yummy yummy pho. mmmm.... we had quite the laugh when ellia tried to guess who vincent is interested in, cuz ellia made quite the peculiar guess. walking down somerset, we laughed from about bronson all the way to bank street, that's how good (or bad) the guess was!

came home, got a message from joelle at work that she needs my help with the ottawa economics association luncheon tomorrow. in other words, i have to dress nice tomorrow - no jeans! in case it's somewhat warm, i made preparations to wear a skirt if i could (translation: shaved LEGS). i also talked to kasmo for a while and tried to make plans for her visit next week! whee, i'm so excited!! at about 12:45am, tiz called cuz he woke up and couldn't sleep anymore (6:45 his time), so i talked to him for a while. and yeah, that's about it. a long way of saying that it was a fairly normal thursday.

short and sweet.
woke up. went to school. got stuck in traffic on bronson. took at least SEVEN lights before we could even turn left into campus...at least 4 before we even got into the stinkin' turning lane, so i was at least a good 20 min late for class. grr. zipped outta class when it was done and went home to eat some lunch and cram. napped. crammed some more. went back to school for my midterm. it went okay, i think. in any case, it's only worth 10% of my final mark, which is piddly for a so-called midterm! john so kindly picked me up after class, and we had a whole ton of time to kill. john forgot the pics again, so we went to his place to get them. we ended up driving around rockliffe looking for the stupid pond, which i've never been able to find. we still didn't find it today, but oh well. we took a nice little driving tour all around rockliffe (looking for the pond and john showing me his old house), and yeah. we drove around and around and around and only managed to kill about an hour, but then we went to get norm and go to the pump for our usual wednesday night gathering. we'd had it with wings, so we got other stuff instead. normie had a burger and john and i both had a grilled veggies on foccacia bread, which was fairly yummy. i gave john, normie, patty, and bunny their presents, which was a turkey of sorts. see, on friday, john saw my hand and his first sentence was, "wow! that's a BIG turkey!" to which everyone was like, "are you on crack??" but what he meant was that when we were kids, we traced our hands on red, orange, and yellow paper and put them together like a turkey butt. stick a head and a body on it and you've got a pretty turkey! so i made them each a "big" turkey with john's little quote on the back. the turkeys (turkies?) were actually very cute, if i do say so myself! we left, with the intention of studying, but since i'm gonna be up laaaaaate tonight, we ended up going to timmy's for some french vanilla cappucino. and on the way home, something was funny but i can't remember what now. it was funny/interesting enough that i remember telling john that i was going to blog about it, but i now do not have the slightest clue what it was.

i hope this was sweet, but it certainly wasn't too short. time to cram. hope the french vanilla kicks in soon......

blog was not working right last night...here's what should've been posted....

up late last night. REAL late. slept for a few hours and then woke up for japanese class. rob managed to squirm out another day of non-presenting. mine's on thursday, ARGH! i didn't study at all for our weekly quiz, but i think i managed to eke out a half-decent mark. i figure one bad quiz is okay in the grand scheme of things, considering i had one 16.5/20 (that was the day i walked into the class without knowing about weekly quizzes and figured what the heck and wrote it anyway). the rest have all been 19 and up, so i think i'm ok. language analysis was horridly boring, cuz everyone in that class is SO confused as to what we need to know for the midterm on thursday and kept asking questions.

i bolted for south keys after class. walked all the way from greenboro to walmart (the entire length of south keys) only to find that there was no one-hour developing today. i was so peeved that i had to walk ALL the way back to loblaws to do it! then i had to kill an hour while my pictures were being done, so i bought my mom the answering machine for her birthday. i was gonna buy the $25 one, but i decided that i'd like to see a number display showing how many messages are waiting, so i ended up buying the $40 one instead. it also has like a 40 min recording time as opposed to a 10 min one, but like we get THAT many messages... i'm very proud of myself that i went into winners, globo, chapters, AND michael's and all i bought was a birthday card to send to michelle. basically, no good clothes, shoes, books, or craft items caught my attention. i went to pick up my pictures, and then bussed home.

i had to stop at billings cuz poopy called to ask me to buy ginger, so i got that and some other things, then went home. i was SO tired and my mom kept asking me stupid questions right when i walked in the door. i just went to my room and tried to shut them out. i had to make a quick call to everyone at andrew's house, and it was nice to talk to everyone again, if even for about 10 min! i placed an order with mattie for one of the titus shirts (i didn't realize they were such a limited edition!), altho i'm not sure whether i want the black or the grey. what do you guys think i should get? check the titus site and click on the t-shirts link to see spider and treana modelling the black and grey!

ate dinner, took a longer-than-i-wanted nap, and now i'm blogging before i study. bleh. unfortunately, my blog has come to an end, and that means i have to read now. ick.

a very tame day today. woke up, internetted while i ate lunch, studied, took a nap, ate dinner and watched tv, studied some more, showered, and now i'm internetting again. oh, and somewhere in between, i made some cool thanksgiving presents for normie, patty, and john. i guess it'll have to be belated presents by the time they get them on wednesday, but it's the thought that counts.

i kept waking up to all these phone calls this morning, but i would hear it once and then it would stop. after a few calls, i realized that someone had set the answering machine to pick up after one ring! i tried to figure out which messages were the new ones, and decided once again that our answering machine SUCKS. so instead of buying my mom flowers for her bday tomorrow which i had decided yesterday, i will instead buy her a new answering machine.

i icq'ed with wai (from leicester) today. he and i email about oh...twice a year...hehee, but we make sure that they're good and long! wowee, i never realized that he reads my blog too!! just goes to show that if you don't comment, i can't really tell who reads! sure, i can track you down to some extent (benana is a dead giveaway!), but i can't always tell!! comment!! i like comments!! esp phill's, spider's, and johan's, cuz they're nice and long....sometimes almost a blog in itself!

so here's my ten cents, my two cents is free!! (without chung). mmm...spider's blog got me thinking about pickles...i think i'm gonna go grab some and get back to hittin' the books!

zowie, what a great day! so adrian(1) came to pick me up and we went to church. i ended up sitting next to some people who were a little chatty throughout the service, so i was a little peeved cuz it was hard for me to concentrate when i kept hearing whispers and stuff, but no names about who these people were. : P i chatted with ppl for a quick bit before i ran over to chu shing for dim sum.

waited with john for our table, then we were joined by normie, leila, vince, patty, and bunny. patty is allergic to soy (ie. TOFU), peanuts, and any seafood (ie SHRIMP) so he was just watching us eat. he was there for "moral support." teehee, so we all ate til we were nice and stuffed. bunny said he liked pretty much all of it, which is really cool, cuz before this, the only "chinese food" he had ever had consisted of chicken balls. patty had broken his glasses, so we decided to go to st.laurent so he could fix 'em. i went with john and swung by his house to get his projector in case we decided to play some games later. john's piranhas are pretty cool....i also made his little niece cry, which was not a highlight of this visit. doh. we went and shopped around st.laurent, and i'm happy to announce that the only thing i bought was a mango tango ice cream cone!

had to go back to john's to get his playstation and some games, and then we all went to bunny's house. actually, patty went home for dinner, but he came over later. we used the projector and played some pretty cool games with it. jeopardy (a staple), fifa 2001, goldeneye, and then we got patty's N64 and played some mariokart, then back to the playstation and some more crazy games like who wants to be a millionaire and stuff. basically we were at bunny's 'til about 11 i think, then we all piled into the cars and went to mango's for shawarmas again! mmm...i've still got the lingering garlic taste in my mouth...mmm....

so yeah, some crazy fun and games today! yummy dimsum and norm rating his favourites...ghost/scary stories....john pinned me down so his niece could tickle me (but i couldn't argue, since i'd just made her cry...i'm such a monster!) and i nearly kicked him for that...me whipping off my hair at HMV and watching the guys laugh til their bellies hurt (normie, if you put that where patty suggested, you can KEEP it)...and just too many more laughs that i can't remember right now. i should study. ack!

ps. spider, no, you don't know this joanna...i think you're thinking of *joann*... YAY like one week til kasmo comes to visit!!

quite the entertaining day, i would say! woke up, neatened up my room, talked to kasmo for about an hour, got dressed, and went to watch the boys play some ball. when i got there, matty p, tim, ivo, and normie had all worked up quite the sweat. at one point, they were shooting to choose teams, and no one could sink it. so i said, "gimme that ball!" and it made a beautiful swishy sound as it went right through! it took tim and normie about 5 more shots to get it in, altho according to tim, having a girl spectating put the pressure on (and i'm sure me saying, "c'mon boys, a girl is watching...this is sad!" didn't help). adrian and spencer showed up for about 5 min before everyone left, but it was definitely cool to see spencer again! darn kid sprouted in the past 3 years....i'm going to die a miserable death if lil' amber outgrows me too. i think if she gets up on her hind legs, she might reach my knee, so i think i'm okay.

normie drove me all the way (that whole 5 min) home, then i chatted with john for a while before heading out for dinner with jack and vincent. i stopped off at church to say hi to ppl and to give my mom a message before meeting up with the guys at yangtze. it was too busy, so we went to chu shing instead. dinner on vincent was very yummy. : ) chicken & corn soup, hunan beef, sesame shrimp, black bean beef noodles...mmm.... went to pick up some games from their place, rent a video from elgin st., then went to oh so good. they were oh so busy, so we went to second cup instead.

we came back to my place, and watched the hockey game (GO SENS GO.....!!!). what was that, chung?? i have yet to figure out that rookie's name (#19, making up for the punk that wore it before), but very nice goal! alas, les pauvre canadiens did not fare so well. after that, we caught the calgary game which ended in a very disappointing loss. in any case, iginla is definitely on my team. meanwhile, jack, vincent, and i played some star wars episode 1 monopoly (mine for only $9.99 at walmart!). joanna came over after a while, and eventually vincent and i forfeited to jack cuz he was just slowly killing us off.

the 4 of us started to play risk, and vincent gave up early in the game. the rest of us duked it out to a bloody bloody ending, and we finally called it a game after joanna and i tag-teamed jack and won in just about the most cheap method possible. together, she and i tried to take out jack until our forces combined had over 24 countries. at which point, i forfeited all my territories to joanna, whose mission was to conquer 24 areas and so we won the game. i don't think anyone really had a huge complaint since it was about 4:30am by that point, and definitely time to call it quits. vincent had conked out on the couch long ago (his primary mission was to wipe out all the blues....he was blue. so by losing, he kinda won, but yeah).

in any case, this is pathetic because it's 5am and i'm up blogging. i've gotta get up early for chinese church tomorrow, but at least adrian (1) is giving me a ride, woohoo. that's another 30 min of sleep right there! guess i'd better not waste it..... time to sleep!
