woohoo....well, let's see. the weekend went really well. the retreat was pretty darned cool! and yes, i did have cell reception out there, so i was able to make a few long-d phone calls on saturday. :)
aside from that, not too much else to report. i did decide to schedule that conflicting class, so i now have to wake up for 8:30 on wednesdays AND thursdays. speaking of thursdays...john got tired of having to wait for me to finish kcf on thursdays before we could go out and do something, so he went and signed up for indoor ultimate on thursday evenings...coincidentally at carleton's new indoor facilities, too! he figured he'd be done around the same time as me, so that'd work out perfectly! he let me know about this on sunday after the retreat. just when i informed him that thursdays seems to be no good for kcf so we're gonna change it to fridays. DOH.
and yeah. didn't do too much yesterday (monday). went to school then went to john's house for a little bit. followed by the now-usual monday-night dinner at john's sister's house (she is affectionately called *big* because she is the big sister). so we went to big's, ate, and then big and her husband went to a meeting so john, his other sister, and i babysat for the evening. very fun, just put on the jungle book and juliette was entertained for the night...well, until we had to read her bedtime stories, anyway. :)
today was school and then groceries and then home. went to swiss chalet because norm wanted to, then we came back to john's house and made brownies for patty's bday which is today. watched smallville and now waiting around until we go out for patty's bday. woohoo! mmm brownies! :) hope he's not allergic to any nuts that the chocolate may have been exposed to. : P

actually, wait. just a side note for my brit readers....it is FREAKIN' COLD in ottawa this week. today, when i heard the weather report at 7am, it was -25 with a windchill factor of -THIRTYSEVEN!! hear that?! now kasmo, you go and call your cousin up and you tell her that if she's worried about her poor little dears because they have cold feet, then you tell her to dump her kids in ottawa this week, cuz it's been this cold and it's gonna be this cold for another week or so. it's SO cold that patty only smokes 1/2 cigarettes now because he has to come back in out of the cold before he can finish his smoke! so when y'all parents make fun of me for wearing shorts when it's 10 degrees, you see why i laugh at them?? it is SO cold that style is not an issue, as long as you're warm! : )
