I'm a fantastic shopper. :) My JET interview is coming up on Tuesday, so I went shopping yesterday for a new jacket. I went with John's sister Rose and we had a greeeeat shopping day! I haven't really gone shopping in months, so it felt fantastic to check out the mall. The very first jacket I tried on at Tommy Hilfiger was a black velvet jacket and it fit me like a glove! Whaddya know? The very first try! It was 60% off, but I wasn't sure if maybe it was a wee bit too casual. Since it was on clearance, they couldn't really put it on hold, but the nice guy helping us said he'd sneak it over to Tommy Kids and hide it over there for me.

I tried on a few more jackets and nothing really fit well or looked great until we went to RW&Co. I love that store so much it hurts - in the wallet. I grabbed 3 jackets and hit the fitting room. The black and the grey one looked so good I had to try on the pants too. They both looked great on me, but I figured that black was more classic. Too bad, the grey was very snazzy too. Unfortunately, neither the pants nor the jacket were on sale, so it came up to $180 after tax. Oh well, call it an investment.

We went back to Tommy to tell the nice guy that I'd bought a suit. But just for the heck of it, I tried the jacket on again. And goshdarnit, it fit well... and it was 60% off....so I bought it too! It'll look great with a pair of jeans for a night out!

Popped into Smart Set (second on the love/hate-list after RW) to check on this suede-ish coat I'd seen a few months ago, and the only one left was an XS. But there was this cute pink hooded wooly coat next to it, and I checked the price tag just for fun - $25. I had to double-check it to make sure my eyes were working properly...AND it was 25% off! It came to $21 after tax; I just laughed while I forked over my credit card.

So although I dropped a large wad of cash yesterday, I came away with some fantastic buys, and I don't feel an ounce of remorse!

Now I just have to mentally prepare for my interview as much as I've prepared to look good. With any luck, I'll be blogging from Japan in about 5 months!
