hello from toronto! i just want to comment on just how many asian people there are here, and how wonderful it is that i don't know any of them!! so far, i've completely shopped out the eaton centre, saw a (losing) raptors game, smoked a certain mr.chao in pool (but got humiliated in foozeball and tied in airhockey), and just now i went to some buffet place for lunch. all you can eat dimsum, woohoo!! aside from all that, life is good and dandy! i managed to see a whole lot of ppl i didn't think i'd get to see, like good ol' *au-yeurng* and bigjon!! the key to coming to TO is not to call ppl unless you have time to see them...and i just realized that as soon as a few people read this, they're gonna get mad that i was here and didn't call them - oops. nate, tank, patty....if you guys are reading this, then....ummm....y'all live too far away!! ajax and 'sauga are just too far!! : P
anyway, before i get in any more trubble, i'd better end this here! no good rants lately!

i've got some GOOD ones today!
first of all, i'd like to point out that SOMEone was having some yuks at one of my previous blogs. supposedly i was "ranting about rants....classic!" and this person was having a hoot at me having written a huge rant and having it wiped out so that i got mad about having to write another one. is this actually funny?! personally, i don't think it's all that funny, but then again, it could be another case of *doug christie turned sideshow bob* laughing not at what i do, but just at me. ah, memories of the abuse i took in high school. size-15 footprints on my clean white shirts, which incidentally were a great indicator of the weather... ok, no more memory lane - it's getting embarrassing (altho nothing could overshadow today's embarrassment of the swedish hockey team losing to belarus...sorry, had to throw it in!).
my biggest rant of the day is about moms. yes, i ranted about brothers earlier this week and i'm sure sisters will hit the list sometime soon. but moms. nosy!! y'see, i got some flowers last week. very pretty ones. and lots. anyway, i tried to keep them in my room to avoid stupid questions from my mom. however, my room tends to turn into a greenhouse in the winter, so it was pretty hot and the flowers were starting to wither!! i had to suck it up and save my roses from dying....i moved them downstairs. if you read my blog from saturday, that's when i moved them down. my mom saw them and was like, "oh, who're those from?" and i said, "a friend." and she asked if it was the friend that just left, referring to james. AUUUUGH, like, NO they're not from him!! and then albert came over after, so she prolly thinks they're from him!! AUUGH!!
and today, she's like, "come here." so i walk over and ask what she wants. she wants to *talk* to me. she asks if i have a bf. i said no. she asks if i'm sure. WELL OF COURSE I'M BLOODY WELL SURE!!! she asks, "so who're the roses from?!" "i TOLD you, a FRIEND!!" "not a bf?" "NO!!!!" (and if i could make that last NO any bigger font, believe me, i would). i just stormed off and retreated into the solace of icq. she probably thinks it's bert or someone just cuz i hang out with bert a lot, but REALLY. so for all this angst that i'm going through right now, i'd like to send a big hearty thank you to my dear HUNNEY far, far away from all the *fun.* i really don't understand why you think this is so funny!! i realize you can imagine EVERY mother going through the same stupid interrogation, but it's not funny when it's YOUR mother, is it?! you should've known they would just cause trubble (as pretty as they are).
WHY IS EVERYONE LAUGHING AT ME TODAY?!?!!

hiya! tonight being el-cheapo movie night, and me being el-cheapo, we went to see a movie. i would've liked to have seen ali, but it's not playing in theatres anymore. also wanted to see count of monte cristo, but that was a no-go either. so i went with the girls to see amélie. a friend at work and also my sister both said it was a GREAT movie and that it was really funny. it WAS funny!! it might be a bit of a chick flick, but i think guys would find it funny too (the part in the sex-shop was interesting...). it's in french with subtitles, but it's not like anyone who's grown up in ottawa doesn't know french, and it's not like any of us can't read. besides, it's just like watching anime! i'm not sure exactly what about it is so appealing, but the humour is definitely unique. it's silly yet believable!
i saw it at the world exchange in one of the smaller theatres, so we were worried that tall ppl would sit in front of us and we wouldn't be able to read the subtitles like when some super tall dude sat in front of me in crouching tiger (grr, i understand less mandarin than french!). but hey, it's cheap at world exchange and we got free 3-hour parking!
it's definitely worth watching!

now i'm GOOD AND MAD.
i just finished writing this whole rant about how much i can't STAND my stupid brother and how he annoys the heck outta me. then it got wiped out!! anyway, he got on my nerves a whole bunch of times today. like that today was the first official day of reading week and he woke me up about 6 times this morning and by the time i finally woke up, it was only 11am. does someone not know the SINGLE-DIGIT rule?! or better yet, the "don't wake me up before NOON" rule?! he also asked me some other stupid question while i was in the shower...i hate it when ppl interrupt my shower!! i have to turn the water off to hear them, and then i freeze!!
then when i got home later, i asked him if he still wanted the bookshelf that i didn't want. he said he did, but when i asked him if he'd made space in his room for it (there's NO room in his room), he said he hadn't. so i asked him to hurry up and clean his room, because i can only move it in once he's made space for it. is that not logical?!
i think he's starting to get mad that i'm getting pissed off at him so much...but he's constantly IN MY FACE and asking me STUPID questions!!! it's getting to the point where he's annoying me more than my MOM is.....grrrrrr.......
and don't get me started on what i want to do when he shares his *opinions*...if you really want to know what happened the last time he shared his *opinion* tell me and i'll tell you about how i either almost hit him or started bawling (and if you remotely know me, i do NOT cry), if we didn't have guests over.
alright, seems that i need the deadbolt for my door not just to keep only ONE person out of my room....
*GRRRRRRRRR*

i was sitting at church today, about 10 or 15 min before service started, and i'd just taken off my coat and was settling into my seat. then one of the ladies at church came up to me to talk about having kcf over at their house one of these days. we've been trying to coordinate a day for a month or two now, and if it wasn't one thing, it was another. so we finally set a date for kcf to invade their house for dinner and bible study, which i'm really happy about. she is one AMAZING cook...man, if i'm surprised at how thin that family is, cuz if i was in that household, i'd be stuffin' my face fulla great food every day!! they must have great metabolisms!
in any case, after we set the date (march 8th, in case anyone wants to come, please rsvp!), she said some things to me that really touched me. she told me that i was doing a wonderful job and marvelled at how faithful i was for doing such good work with such a stressing job, and that God would continue to bless me for my work with kcf. she also said that she was praying for us, which felt really good to know. she also said she was impressed and that the stress must be getting to me, because i look like i've lost weight and that i look thinner, but i'm sure she was just being nice about that. : )
anyway, her words just kinda blew me away, and reminded me of what i sometimes forget about: that leading kcf is God's work. not my *job* but my calling. not because i was *forced into it* or because i was the *default* but because i was called to do this. i used to get a little down about attendance and numbers, but that's not what kcf is about, is it? God has now blessed us with a solid group of first-year students, and for that i am wonderfully thankful. in fact, running kcf is a blessing in itself. altho it is administratively stressful in the first term, the joy of the fellowship it brings far outweighs the paperwork! i really do love kcf and all the ppl in it (except maybe vincent...heehee, j/k!).
thanks to Mrs.H for all the prayers, support, and reminders that i'm not alone in this. also thanks to everyone else who has faithfully been praying for me and kcf...and especially to socks for putting up with late-night phone calls of desperation. : )
this blog thing is wearing thin. i just wrote a huge blurb about what i did today (not much, really.....i spent most of the day in bed). and then there was an error or something and my whole blog got wiped out. grr.

well, here's a short version of what i did today.
spent most of the day snuggled in bed, my favourite place in the world. i was making up for some lost sleep this week due to midterms and some late-night phone calls.
i called spider and andrew, and chatted with them for a bit. shouts to everyone in newcastle.......i miss you all!!....except maybe matthew, who refused to talk to me. i think he forfeits any expectation of me calling him on his birthday!
props to norm and adrian for dropping by my house on their way home to nap. it was cool to see you both for that whole 10 minutes, and very nice of norm to get me to the concert in time. : )
also-props to simon for comin' to ottawa with his orchestra and putting on an amazing concert! i felt a little strange sitting there by myself (unfortunately, none of the other peoples were able to make it), and i think i'm not a big fan of shostakovich's symphonies although the overture was cool. the long-promised *backstage tour* was a little bit of a let-down, but i'm sure that top-floor classroom in tabaret served the orchestra well.
james and i had nachos at the oak while waiting for simon to finish bonding with the orchestra peeps over dinner, and then we went to my house and watched funny sports injuries. i think his new favourite is *kid gets hit by basketball*...i'll add him to the list of ppl who laugh harder the more times they watch it. simon didn't call, so james went home by 12.
albert came over and took james' place. we watched more injuries and laughed some more. by 1:30, albert contended that simon was too drunk to call, so he went home.
at 2, simon disproved albert's theory, but it was a little late to go out by then....turns out the orchestra went to the oak next to U of O, whereas james and i went to the one across the street from my house. darnit.
ok, i'm hungry. time to grab and small snack and hit the sack!
hello every-buddy! i thought i'd jump on the blog train and start posting my rantings on the internet. i dunno how frequently i'll be doing this, but i'm sure you'll find some interesting tidbits on this sooner or later. i suppose other people's journals are fun to read, espcially since SOMEONE i know makes a hobby of reading random journals. stay tuned for some good stories!
