The one great thing about the past week is that I am now a pseudo-auntie! Hooray! My sister's best friend Evelyn had a baby boy on Tuesday! My sister agrees when I lament that this will be the closest I come to really being an aunt anytime soon. In any case, it's still very exciting! I would've gone to perhaps see him at the hospital, but I was still getting over a flu, so I didn't want to risk it.

Other than that, the week has been pretty hunky-dory. I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow, and then I can submit my medical certificate to the embassy. I should find out in the next few weeks where in Japan I'll be going, so I'll keep everyone posted. Really, though, I think some people are a lot more excited and anxious than I am. I'm just kind of like, "yep, I'm leaving in 3 months." There's a short to-do list before I go, including seeing my eye doctor, dentist, and stuff like that. My sister, on the other hand, is the one peppering me with questions - Do they pay for your transportation from Tokyo to your city? Is your accomodation in Tokyo covered? How about your accomodation when you get to wherever you're going?? How much yen do you think you'll need, because I have contacts and we can try to get a good rate? What about health coverage? How about this and that and this and that?! Yikes!
