today was a wonderful day! after spending a long day at work, i went to the hahns' place for dinner. they had graciously invited kcf to come over for dinner, and it was eagerly accepted! we all sat around and got to know pastor sam and his friend cliff, and chit chatted til dinner. mmm, good eats are always had at that house! after the very yummy dinner, we all sat down and listened to pastor sam share from daniel chapter 1. very sage words that were easily applied to our daily lives as students at carleton. after that, his friend cliff, who is involved with native ministry, shared for a while about his organization and how they minister at the native reserves in canada. guess where cliff lives? in the wonderful town of caronport...go figure. caronport is the home to the briercrest family of schools...briercrest seems to always worm its way into my life...maybe it's a sign. anyway, that was well and good, especially considering the okcc annual summer mission trips to none other than native reserves. after that, we all played in the ever-entertaining hahn house (no 6-person ping-pong, sarah!) and eventually had to go cuz sam's son isaiah (whatta cutie!) was gettin' pretty sleepy.
thanks go to sooooo many people for such a wonderful night. cliff and sam, who spent about 4 hours on the road to get here and are just starting on their way home right now (and prolly won't get home til about 3am). i hope they have a safe trip home, especially because there's some freezing rain goin' on right now..hopefully it doesn't extend much out of the ottawa area. God has definitely blessed them, and i think i speak for all of kcf when i say how thankful i am that they took so much time to travel far outta their way just to share a bit about themselves with us.
also big thanks to the hahns (but more MRS. hahn...sarah!) for having us over and being so gracious and hospitable and just for loving us enough to welcome a bunch of hungry and poor uni students!! we (and our stomachs) definitely appreciate it!!
and last but not least, thanks to pc and ps (again) for chauffeuring some poor and carless students all the way out to centrepointe so we didn't have to waste TWO sets of bus tickets on taking the 95! ; )

that's my thanks for the day. one thing that was not-so-nice today was that my boss (who i trust as a source of editorial knowledge) has agreed that stained-glass should have a dash (darnit) and that i should've been consistent with my tenses. DARNIT! i suppose i'll have to settle with the mark that i got. grrr.... anyway, that said, since i have to settle with a *measly* 91 on my essay, worth 1/3 of my final mark in religion, i should go and study for my midterm tomorrow, which is also worth 1/3. i have to make up for my horrible essay mark. : )
i think today was one of my most unproductive days in a long time. boy, did it ever feel good! i woke up at a leisurely 11:30ish, and played online until about 2ish...and proceeded to spend the next 3 hours on the phone. oh gosh, it was THREE hours?! darnit, gotta get a move on that VoIP deal!
i stopped by shireen's house on my way to class. shireen is cool, everyone! i promised i'd blog about her, so here it is! shireen and i are economics buddies (prolly not a good thing to admit, since econ sucks). last year we had econ and the BEST computer class together!! i strongly recommend computer science 95.101 to anyone who's eligible to take it!! this year we have both micro and macro, as well as religion! whee!! shireen is about 60% of the reason i go to econ classes, cuz without her they're dreadfully boring!! well, actually, they're boring no matter what, it's just that having shireen to talk to makes the classes bearable! : ) and shireen's cool cuz she went to paris and brought me back a POSTCARD!! i LOVE postcards ...and in true a-bomb fashion, she wrote on it as if she were still there!
i then had a very boring class in which the prof lectured about MICRO principles not-so-cleverly renamed as marketing principles!! it was upsetting because shireen was not there to alleviate my boredom and my frustration at having to listen to the same regurgitated lecture for about the 7th time in my university career.
so that was basically my day, but my giggle for the day comes from reading the daily news online. i was reading cbc.ca and came across an article about the HMS Windsor. this Canadian sub...what? since when did canada get a sub?!...apparently sprung a leak (actually 2) and the navy is dismissing it as a "minor incident." but since the emergency procedures were followed and apparently worked, it was therefore deemed a minor incident. yeesh, that sub has just as many leaks as any person would after having taken in 2,000 litres of water! anyway, the article is pretty funny - give it a read.

p.s. shouts out to LeMoN, the birthday boi! please DON'T tell me how it feels....

Hell-o everybuddy!
today was a same-old kinda day, went to work in the morning and did grunt work. the funny of the day is kathryn's plant. there was this itty bitty plant that was on the previous editor's desk, and the thing makes amazing comebacks from the brink of death! kathryn said the plant nearly died on monday, but it's looking a little better today after having some soil added to it which was *borrowed* from the plant in the kitchen. kathryn's convinced that the plant is eminating an evil aura, and we can almost imagine the invisible squiggles (for lack of a better word) around the plant....
went to school for a group meeting. i've decided that the ID studio is a pretty cool place to be, but that's coming from the perspective of a non-ID student. i'm sure they spend more time in there than they would like! they get a little kitchen-y area, but i suppose that's also because they spend their lives in there. the fridge is covered in the fake-grass stuff, and looks like it's covered in moss. they've got some neat-o stuff in there! almost makes me think i'm in the wrong major (oh wait, i AM).
i chilled at the unicentre for a bit, found out that our religion essays were ready to be picked up, so we went to go get them. i got a 91, and i got marks taken off for stupid things. i think the person marking my paper thinks they're an english hot-shot, but WHATever. someone please write back and tell me whether i'm out of line...they marked up my paper because i wrote "stained glass" instead of "stained-glass." AND, this really gets my goat. i wrote a section about the service that i'd attended. i wrote that in past tense, because i was writing about an experience. that's fine and dandy, but then i wrote about the congregation. i wrote that in present tense, because i wrote stuff about how "the congregation has about 70 people and is mainly people under 30" or something like that. they marked up my paper because of the tenses. but really, the congregation IS that big and HAS people that age. grrr. i suppose i shouldn't complain too much cuz most of my friends didn't do as well, but goshdarnit, i lost marks for dumb reasons. after that, some of us went for some viet food, always yummy, and we all went our separate ways.
i came home, chatted a bit, and took a wonderful nap. normie came over soon after my (3-hour) nap, and very much liked the present i got him in toronto (which also makes me happy). his face lit up with his famous grin when he saw it, heehee!! i should get him cool stuff more often! for those that have seen something like it, it's this japanese "lemone" drink (which tasted kinda cream soda-y). it's carbonated, and it's sealed with a marble. you gotta pop the marble down into this cute little chamber before you can drink it. however, when we opened it, it being carbonated, started fizzing all over. as norm said, it's good that this is a *chinese* house and my table was covered in plastic. :)
for those that don't know who normie is, check my blog on from about a week ago. normie wants to be sort of a *guest blogger* on my blog, since he doesn't want his own blog. :) so here is the very first installment of what may or may not become a regular thing! i'm outtie....

I'm the world's greatest......i'm....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........R. (likes them young) Kelly. Regardless of his taste in women, he make good music. What's up. I'm Norm and Miss Lee decided to let me guest blog. With nothing else going on right now i'll tell you about my day. I woke up at 8 am, worked out (cardio), went to court, went to the library, worked out (back and bi's), went to class and discovered the goodness of the orange peel (i'll explain later), then went home. I arrived home and perchance my "pocket" (pronounced like Pocky) was light...I had forgotten my keys at home. I ate and watched Smallville. Great show. I think i'll follow it like some peeps I know follow Buffy. My new Buffy. Back to the orange peel. It's full of little packets of liquid and they can be popped and stuff and if you squoosh them they burst and such and smell nice. Kooooooool. Alright 'nuf. Got to go and list to C. David's (Can't Be Messin' Around).

la la la la la!! school is a boring event, i must say. aside from the fact that i should be charging a few bucks for every set of religion notes people take from me, school is quite blah.
here are the highlights of my day today:
tiz and i tested out this g-phone program that's a VoIP thingy, and it's GREAT! my mike doesn't seem to be working, so i had to type my end of the conversation, but all in all, it's pretty darned good!! sound #6 is pretty darned freaky, but it's good if you go and call someone in the middle of the night just to freak them out!

AND, the BEST news of the day, kalun PROMISED that he would go and put a link to my blog on his fresh-stuff page!! i've also been made a somewhat unofficial editor of new updates on his page (since kalun seems to have trouble spelling things sometimes). my next step is to convince him that i should have a page to myself entitled: KaLuN's STaLkeRs! i may be convinced to share some of the glory with tiz, since tiz seems to do quite an effective job stalking kalun too.

i think that's all from the wonderful world of zet...stay tuned for tomorrow's blog! same zet-place, same zet-time!

No one is quite like you
I smile every time you call
Never met anyone like you
All I know is that I am thankful.

Kan't understand why you're so special to me
Unless it was just a part of God's awesome plan

Perhaps we'll find out years from now
And perhaps we'll never know
No one has blessed my life the way you have
Dunno why we get along so well...
All I know is that I am thankful.

addendum: after i told a certain SoMeOnE that there was a hidden message in this poem, she hounded me to know the hidden message. after telling her that
"if i told you, i'd have to kill you!"
she said, "ok, can you tell [my brother]?"
LoL!! okay, the jig is up, there's a hidden message in there, but only decipherable to the person for whom the poem was intended. if you figure it out...you know it's for you. ; )
apologies to my avid blog readers - i haven't written in a few days! i've been busy (as usual). friday i worked as usual, then went to kcf, where we discussed SK1. after that, i came straight home and studied for my psych midterm on saturday morning. that went ok...a good lot of the questions on the midterm were off the midterm from last year and from 5 years ago (hooray for copies of past midterms!). after that, i did a bit of shopping and then came home. tiz called while i was on my way home (yay!), and we talked for a bit before he went to go watch a movie with bumbi bear and polar bear! but hey, i got to talk to some swedish guy whose nickname is bumbi, and that was WAY cool... bumbi is such a cute nickname!! i took a nap for a few hours and woke up when tiz called again! we talked for a few hours and then i went to sleep again!
sunday was church and then i came home, ate, and tiz called (notice a pattern here?). tsk tsk, naughty tiz, wasn't supposed to call 'til monday!! i made tiz sleep at about 6pm, when i took a *nap*....i woke up at 10am this morning, goooo nap!!
in essence, i had a pretty dull weekend (with the exception of spending hours on the phone with someone who just can't stop calling me!).
*note* just as i said that, my cell phone rang and GUESS who just called!!...
ok, i'm off now, got to give someone my undivided attention now!! *grin* later!
